Taparko-Bouroum gold mine reaches commercial production

High River Gold has announced that is Taparko-Bouroum gold mine has met the criteria set out to achieve commercial production.

The gold mine, located in the west African nation of Burkina Faso, has been in operation at a minimum capacity of 60 per cent over a 30-day trial period, achieving the status of full commercial production.

Currently, the mill is operating at a capacity in excess of 80 per cent, producing 3,623 ounces of gold with a mill output of 60,825 tonnes during the month-long trial period.

Total gold production for 2007 at the site is anticipated to be 30,000 ounces, according to High River Gold, with an expected production of 100,000 ounces in 2008.

High River Gold is currently focused on productions in Russia and west Africa, particularly the Taparko-Bouroum mine, as well as the Berezitovy Gold Mine located in Russia – both areas considered to have great geological potential, according to the company.
