Vista Gold prepares for definitive feasibility study

Thursday, 18th October 2007 (1798 views)

Several consulting firms have been enlisted to participate in a definitive feasibility study planned for the Paredones Amarillos gold project in Baja California Sur, Mexico, Vista Gold has announced.

Colorado-based Research Development will be responsible for a metallurgical testing programme on the site, while further geotechnical investigations and test work will be undertaken by Golder Associates.

These companies will be joined by KD Engineering, which will be in charge of engineering design and cost estimates, as well as Mine Development associates, which will determine proven and probable gold reserves on the Mexican property.

Vista Gold said that it intends to begin a core drilling and metallurgical test programme at Paredones Amarillos once the required permits have been processed, with a scheduled completion date in the first quarter of 2008.

According to the company, an earlier preliminary feasibility study carried out in 2005 indicated that the site had 1.9 million ounces of measured and indicated gold resources and forecast a 13-year production life for the site.
