One side of the coin features the image of a sourdough gold panner, while the reverse depicts a large-tusked woolly mammoth, designed by Ray Lipovsky, an engraver at the mint. According to the news source, the project has set a new standard for environmentally aware mines, which only fall under the label of Mammoth Gold when they demonstrate compliance with strict social and environmental guidelines. All gold medallions produced at the Lasqueti Mint, located in British Columbia, Canada, are hand made, according to J&M Coin and Jewellery.
