Tuesday, 23rd October 2007 (2892 views) Results from a summer drilling programme undertaken at the Bingo deposit in northern Saskatchewan, Canada, have shown depth confirmation of high-grade gold deposits on the La Ronge Gold Belt property, according to Golden Band Resources.A 43-hole diamond drilling programme was completed in the months of June and July in an effort to convert gold resources previously classified as inferred into the measured and indicated resource categories, as well as to expand the known gold resources on the property site. Rodney Orr, president of Golden Band Resources, said that the summer surface drilling results are "very encouraging", especially as the company moves into an underground exploration programme. "Not only will we be able to expand our higher-grade resources in the Bingo deposit with these drilling results, but we have also confirmed new high-grade mineralized areas and expanded several known zones that will be added to our underground exploration targets," he said. The Saskatchewan-based gold exploration and development company is currently focusing its efforts on achieving production on its La Ronge Gold Belt properties. According to its website, Golden Band Resources currently holds a land package covering an area of 70,000 hectares in the region.
