A 100 euro gold collector coin, designed to commemorate the 90th year of Finnish independence, is set to be released on November 5th, according to Numismaster.com's World Coin News.

Designed by sculptor Reijo Paavilainen, the coin will be struck at the Mint of Finland and features an image of the country with the years of independence on one side, with an abstract design representing the theme of collaboration on the reverse.

According to World Coin News, the gold coin measures 22 millimetres in diameter and weighs 8.48 grams.

Only 9,000 of the coins will be minted, which will be available for sale through the Finnish Postal Service, monetary shops such as Rahapaja Moneta and the Akateeminen kirjakauppa, or academic book store, in Helsinki's city centre.

Finland was officially declared as an independent state from Russia on December 6th 1917, following the Russian revolutions that took place after World War I.
