Cusac Gold Mines has made preparations to winterise its Table Mountain gold mine on the Cassiar Gold property.

The company made the announcement as part of a complete update on the proprety, which also included drill results for the Taurus and Taurus II deposits on the site in northern British Columbia, Canada.

Winterisation efforts at the Table Mountain gold mine, which has produced 315,000 ounces of gold since December 2006, should ensure "a smooth resumption of development and mining activities in the spring of 2008," Cusac Gold Mines reported.

Over the past year, 1,639 metres of drilling was carried out on the Taurus deposit, with intercepts confirming zones of low and high-grade gold mineralisation on the site.

Samples from the deposit are currently undergoing metallurgical analysis, with the aim of determining average gold recovery rates.

Meanwhile, further drilling has been announced for the Taurus II deposit, which may contain a set of hybrid gold-bearing systems.
