Thursday, 22nd November 2007 (2638 views) New assay results from an ongoing drilling operation in Brazil have shown "significant potential" for resource expansion, according to Luna Gold. The drilling programme on the Aurizona project, which will cover around 3,750 metres when complete, has thus far intercepted 46.8 metres of mineralisation containing 8.94 grams of gold per tonne. "The high-grade, fresh rock intercept highlights the significant potential for resource expansion at depth on the Aurizona project," said Luna Gold's chief executive officer and director Tim Searcy. Assay results for five holes have been received so far, with further results pending in the coming weeks. Luna Gold currently has six projects based in the US state of Nevada, with two gold projects located in Brazil. The company is actively engaged in acquiring, developing and exploring potential gold properties. Earlier this month, the company announced that it had intersected another zone of gold mineralisation on its Red Rock property in Nevada. In addition, the company has recently began a round of sampling and mapping on its Stone Cabin gold property, with further work planned for spring 2008.
