Following the release of results from a sampling project carried out on the Beiya property in China, Asia Now Resources has claimed it may have discovered a potential gold resource on the project's north-east extension.

Assay results from the Beiya North gold zone, which is located in the country's Yunnan province, yielded grades of up to 14.1 grams of gold per tonne, with all 59 soil samples returning evidence of mineralisation.

"We are very excited about Beiya North and these early results only add to our expectations," said Asia Now's president, Kaihui Yang.

Some 23 exploration licenses have been granted for the property, which covers a land area of 586 square kilometres.

Located 60 kilometres from the city of Dali, the Beiya project is one of two main Chinese gold projects on which the company is focusing its exploration efforts.

The other gold project, Habo, is located on an area of 162 square kilometres of land in the Yunnan province, around 25 kilometres away from the Vietnam border.
