Thursday, 29th November 2007 (2613 views) A total of three holes completed during a diamond drilling operation at Kazakhstan's Kepken gold prospect have intersected extensions to previously-discovered zones of mineralisation on the site.According to Central Asia Resources, results from the latest round of drilling at the site have extended mineralisation to the south-east and north of existing gold zones, with a newly-updated resource estimate for the property scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2008. Results for some 31 drill holes have been released thus far from the site, conducted over a total of 4,419 metres. Samples for a final 11 holes are currently being analysed in Kyrgystan, with results expected shortly. According to the chief executive officer of Central Asia Resources, the company's exploration team is now focused on the Kengir Prospect, which is thought to be the next significant target of gold mineralisation for the company in Kazakhstan. The company currently has a number of gold and base metal exploration properties in the country, including K2, Akbakai South and Boguty.
