A winter drilling operation is set on the Harker Township gold project in north-east Ontario in early 2008, it has emerged.

The property, which is owned by Golden Harker Explorations, has been the subject of a number of drilling operations and technical programmes in 2007.

Earlier this year, some 3,037 metres of core drilling was conducted over 18 holes on the property, which confirmed a length of gold mineralisation measuring more than three kilometres across the site.

Following the successful results of this drilling programme and a subsequent field examination and technical report, further exploration has been recommended for the site.

The first phases of follow-up exploration on the Harker Township property are set to get underway early in the new year and will consist of a diamond drilling programme, soil-geochemical sampling and ground geophysics, the company has outlined.

According to Plato Gold, there are 11 mine claims on the Harker Township, which contain a number of gold occurrences.
