Freegold announces 'encouraging' results

Tuesday, 18th December 2007 (1888 views)

Assay results from a total of 16 holes at the Almaden gold project in Idaho have been announced by Freegold Ventures.

The company has been concentrating on delineating the molybdenum mineralisation in the North Zone in addition to portions in the Main Zone.

It said that the latest results "provide encouragement" for Almaden's potential for growth and the possibility of molybdenum being a "significant" contributor to investment returns.

Highlights of the 16-hole drill announced today include the SW C44 hole, which was drilled to a depth of 197 feet and produced 0.88 grams of gold per tonne.

Freegold also announced that is had been focusing on drilling at the syncline between both zones, which was previously limited to a depth of 100 feet.

It discovered that while five holes did not demonstrate significant intervals of gold mineralisation, there was evidence of molybdenum extending towards the syncline.

The company considers the Almaden project, which is located in the south-west of Idaho, to be its core asset.
