Gold vodka 'a top Christmas tipple'Thursday, 20th December 2007 (2031 views) A bottle of vodka which contains real gold flakes in it may be set to be top of drinkers' Christmas lists this year. The Street.com has reported that the drink could be a popular choice among those looking to impress over the festive period. Launched in the US earlier this year, the ultra-premium vodka has proved a hit with consumers, with its 24-carat consumable gold flakes making it an opulent choice for drinkers during the party season. Created by Shaw-Ross, the French Vodka Gold Flakes Supreme vodka costs $60 (£29.70) per bottle in the US, but The Street.com has suggested that the drink should be sitting on people's shelves this Christmas. The vodka is quadruple distilled using underground spring water and is made with 24-carat gold flakes. The French Vodka Gold Flakes Supreme vodka is not the first drink to incorporate gold, as Blue Nun recently released a limited gold edition sparkling wine, which had 22-carat gold leaf.
