Californian jewellery designer Carl Blackburn has launched his 2008 collection of 18ct gold pieces through online store PearlmansJewelers.

The collection features Celtic cross design diamond pendants and rings inspired by the designer's 'enduring fascination with spiritual and ecological beauty'.

It also includes ultra-wide diamond eternity bands, cocktail earrings, pendants and cufflinks.

The collection was put together over 12 months by Mr Blackburn, who describes his work as a "personal odyssey towards the beautiful".

Launching the collection online comes after two years of working closely with jeweller Bill Pearlman, whose site draws 8,000 visitors a day.

Their latest collaboration follows 2007's neo classics collection, which was also launched on the site.

"Bill is a true industry visionary," Mr Blackburn said.

"Few other jewellers have been so forward-thinking in blending the traditional couture shopping experience with the dynamic potential of online luxury retailing."

Carl Blackburn is based in Beverly Hills, California. His designs are distributed to more than 300 high-end jewellers worldwide.
