Another lucky winner has picked up a kilo of gold at the Dubai Shopping Festival, according to reports.

The latest Gold Rafffle winner, Dubai City Guide reports, was Steephan Joy from India, who will take home one of the 32 kilos of gold provided the Dubai Jewellery & Gold Group (DGJG), which organises the draw.

To qualify for the raffle, shoppers must spend at least 500 United Arab Emirates dirham (AED) at the festival, which is approximately £68. The 32 kilos of gold on offer are valued at around 3.5 million AED.

Dubai's Shopping Festival is one of the biggest events of its kind for gold jewellery sales, with over 400 of the city's gold retailers participating. This year, DGJG said it expects sales to total 1.2 billion AED, a 20 per cent increase on the 2007 festival.

Since the start of the festival in 1996, DGJG has given away over 600 kilos of gold in prizes.
