"Significant" gold results in Burkina FasoWednesday, 20th February 2008 (2673 views) High-grade gold intersects including 47 metres of 6.05 g/t gold have been made at the Kari Nord project in Burkina Faso, west Africa, the company behind the scheme has announced.Goldbelt Resources said the results come from 20 newly-drilled reverse circulation holes at the site's Vindaloo prospect. In addition to the 47 metre-wide intersect, there were also results of 14 metres of 3.86 g/t gold, 18 metres of 2.71 g/t gold and nine metres of 2.47 g/t gold. The company added that while no RC drilling had been carried out south of the prospect, bedrock mineralisation is known to continue. Goldbelt Resources director Michael Gareau said he was "very excited" about the scale of mineralisation at the Vindaloo prospect and was confident that it connected with mineralisation at the Madras and Kari Sud prospects to form a large gold system. "We are devoting more funds to evaluate the resource potential of this system," he commented. The company plans ground geophysics and further drilling on 7,000 metres of bedrock gold anomaly at Kari Nord. Goldbelt Resources is based in Toronto, Canada.
