Constitution completes first exploration phase in ArgentinaThursday, 21st February 2008 (1759 views) Constitution Mining has announced the completion of the first phase of exploration at its Atena gold property in Salta province, north-west Argentina.Previous exploration at the site by companies including Rio Tinto had identified 11 kilometres of mineralised vein structure, the company said, but large areas of the property remained unexplored. Under the first of a three-phase exploration programme, Constitution identified and mapped a further 36 kilometres of mineralised vein structure, with initial samples returning results of 3.93 g/t gold. Other metals, including silver, copper and zinc, were also present in the samples. Further assay returns are expected soon, the company said. Commenting on the results, Constitution's chief executive Dr William Fuchter said: "The Atena property forms part of a rapidly developing mineral district in north-western Argentina that includes such deposits as TacaTaca, Lindero and Rio Grande." The Atena gold project sits 3,700 metres above sea level and covers 3,676 hectares.
