Geoinformatics Exploration has announced the results of an independent mineral resource estimate at its Whistler project in Alaska.

The company said the estimate put indicated resources at 840,000 ounces of gold, with an additional 2.74 million ounces of gold in inferred resources.

Indicated results include 30 million tonnes grading 0.87 g/t gold, with 134 million tonnes grading 0.64 g/t gold in the inferred category.

In addition to the main resource estimates, Geoinformatics says the estimate discovered several untested zones on the Whistler property and that it intends to these investigate further during 2008.

Further drilling will be carried out to test the depth of high-grade resources beneath the current open pit operation and to test the lateral extensions of the both the Whistler and Main zones.

The Whistler project comprises 732 State of Alaska mining claims over 440 square kilometres.
