NXA announces gold exploration plansThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Friday, 29th February 2008 (2572 views) Canadian firm NXA has unveiled exploration plans for three gold targets in British Columbia. The company said it will search for gold at the Topley-Richfield gold and silver property, the Trail Peak copper and gold property and the Axelgold alkalic gold and uranium prospect during 2008. All three of these sites are located with in British Columbia's Omineca mining division. NXA plans at least 3,000 metres of diamond drilling at Topley-Richfield, which is the company's flagship exploration property, to verify the results of earlier work. This had returned gold grades of between 0.5 and 27.8 grams per tonne. A re-sampling programme will attempt to confirm these historical results. Meanwhile, NXA will carry out further exploration work at Trail Peak to determine whether to follow up on its initial 2007 assessment. According to the company, geological results from Trail Peak indicate that it could be a "highly prospective" target for gold, copper and other metals. At Axelgold, NXA plans to carry out airborne radiometrics, time-domain electro-magnetic and magnetic surveys over the entire property. This will help the company to define the site's deposits and to identify the radioactive phases of intrusion that are associated with gold mineralisation. Axelgold is situated on the north-east facing slopes of the Axelgold mountain range.
