Gold drilling targets SleepyWednesday, 19th March 2008 (4207 views) Drilling has commenced on gold targets at the Sleepy project in the Cadillac Break group of properties in Quebec, the company working on the site has announced.Alexandria Minerals said the drilling will test the potential to extend mineralisation down-dip and along strike. Currently, the company said, gold mineralisation at Sleepy is defined over a strike length of 350 metres and to a depth of 275 metres. A recent NI 43-101 compliant estimate for the site noted mineralisation widths of up to 22.2 metres, while drilling carried out in the 1980s and 1990s returned intercepts of 18.55 g/t gold over 12.5 metres. So far this year, Alexandria has completed 17 drill holes at the site, with assay results returned for five of these. According to these results, the target zone was intercepted 30 metres below the service and intersections including 8.85 metres graded at 1.40 g/t gold and 3.56 metres graded at 2.31 g/t gold have been recorded. Other results include 6.13 metres graded at 1.20 g/t gold and 5.28 metres graded at 1.41 g/t gold. The Cadillac Break group of properties comprises ten prospects that host four historical gold deposits, as well as a number of exploration targets.
