Tuesday, 22nd April 2008 (1205 views) Work is underway on an 8,000-metre diamond drilling programme on the Brookbank gold deposit in the Beardmore-Geraldton area of northern Ontario, it has been confirmed.Ontex Resources announced that the first hole being drilled will target the deposit at a depth of around 400 metres. The work follows the completion of a National Instrument 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimate for the property in April, the company added. Figures from his report put the indicated resources of the deposit's main zones - Brookbank, Cherbourg, Foxear and Irwin - at 1.62 million tonnes grading at an average of 7.1 g/t gold for a total of 372,900 ounces of contained gold. Furthermore, the property's inferred resources were put at 1.62 million tonnes graded at 6.2 g/t gold for 321,800 ounces of gold. In total, the Brookbank deposit's resources are estimated at 694,700 ounces of gold contained in 3.24 million tonnes graded at 6.6 g/t gold. In addition to the Brookbank property, Ontex Resources also has a number of other operations in Canada, including the Deloro property near Timmins, Ontario and the Bartec property in the Val D'Or region of Quebec.
