Redesigned "Jewellery Court" opens in Dubai

Monday, 28th April 2008 (847 views)

A redesigned and refurbished Jewellery Court has opened at the Deira City Centre shopping mall in Dubai, it has been reported.

Tradearabia.com says that according to an official spokesman for the centre, the Jewellery Court will allow an "increasing number of tourists to shop for superior designs under one roof".

The redevelopment of the Jewellery Court was carried out over the past year, the site reports.

Deira City Centre vice-president Fuad Al Najjar told the news source that the work has resulted in a "dazzling new section" of the three-storey mall.

"Gold and jewellery are synonymous with Dubai's image," he added.

To mark the opening of the court, the mall is running a jewellery promotion, the site states, which will give shoppers an opportunity to win 100,000 United Arab Emirates dirhams - equal to around £13,694 - worth of jewellery vouchers.

In order to qualify for a chance of claiming the prize, visitors to the mall must spend 300 dirhams or over at participating stores. The winner of the vouchers will be drawn on May 18th.

According to Dubai Info, the Deira City Centre mall houses 350 shops and outlets, including a cinema, 40 restaurants and cafes, and 33 dedicated jewellery stores.
