Eaglecrest reports record gold gradeWednesday, 30th April 2008 (795 views) Eaglecrest Explorations has announced that drilling at its San Simon project in north-east Bolivia has returned the highest gold grade-thickness interval ever recovered by the company at the property. The discovery was returned from the L484 high-grade gold shoot and was estimated to have a true thickness of 3.7 metres graded at 27.8 g/t gold. This gives the interval a grade-thickness product of 103 g/t, the best every recorded by the company at San Simon. Other results from the drilling programme included intercepts graded at 57.1 g/t gold over 1.7 metres, 1.6 g/t gold over 0.4 metres and 1.0 g/t gold over 0.9 metres in the L484 shoot. An intersection of 1.3 g/t gold over 0.7 metres was also recorded at the San Pedro West gold shoot, the company said. Both the L484 and San Pedro West are located in the Dona Amelia zone of San Simon. Eaglecrest president and chief operating officer Hans Rasmussen said: "The fact that hole dh327 returned the highest gold grade-thickness interval in San Simon's history speaks to the high-grade gold potential of the L484 gold shoot and the other shoots that remain to be drilled in the Dona Amelia zone." The San Simon project is located approximately 450 kilometres north of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, around 20 kilometres from the border with Brazil.
