Millrock Resources has announced it plans to expand the drilling project at Bluff prospect.

The expansion will involve a 1,800-metre core drilling programme at the historical gold resource site in Alaska.

Approximately ten holes are to be drilled and may confirm earlier drill intersections that BHP-Utah Minerals found between 1986 and 1990.

During those years BHP-Utah found lode gold mineralisation in three areas named Daniels Creek, Saddle and Koyana.

Reports in 1991 for the three zones found a potential grade of 3.43 g/t of gold in 300,000 ounces, 3.77 g/t of gold in 165,000 ounces and 0.69 g/t of gold in 40,000 ounces.

Company president, Gregory Beischer, said: "We will work quickly to verify the past results and . . . we feel there is excellent potential for discovery of previously undetected deposits."

Millrock has six projects in Alaska including Fortymile, Estelle and Ketchem. It also has three projects in Arizona including San Jose and Dry Mountain.
