Monday, 23rd June 2008 (2297 views) Two pink gold watches have contributed towards a $5.428,852 million auction at Antiquorum's summer sale in New York.The Important Collectors' Wristwatches, Pocket Watches and Clocks sale was helped by 484 internet bidders as well as phone and room bidders. One of the pink gold watches was made by Patek Philippe and fetched $640,800 - the highest price bid at the auction. Another pink gold watch, known as the TV Watch, from Patek Philippe sold for $190,000. A white gold watch retailed by Tiffany and Co was sold for double its estimate, $72,000. Julien Schaerer, an Antiquorum auctioneer and watch director, said: "We're still seeing strong prices realized for fine timepieces in the U.S. market." In other related news, Sotheby's London has recently announced it will hold an Important Watches auction on July 16th. Highlights from Sotheby's will include a Patek Philippe watch which has been estimated at £350,000 to £450,000, according to fibre2fashion.com.
