Kimber Resources has released initial drill results from its Monterde property in Mexico.

One hole found two high grade gold intercepts at over 100 metres further down than the previous deepest intercepts in this area of the Carmen resource. This hole found 2.9 g/t of gold over 2.9 metres.

Another hole found 2.8 g/t of gold across three metres.

Gordon Cummings, president and chief executive officer of Kimber Resources, said: "As further drill results are received, we will continue to develop our understanding of the depth potential of the Carmen gold-silver mineralising system and the implications for the rest of the Monterde property."

Over 7,600 metres have been so far drilled at the Carmen deposit across 15 drill holes.

A three-hole drill programme will start this week at the Veta Minitas area which is 250 metres from Carmen. This programme will cover 1,330 metres.

Kimber Resources formed as a private company in 1995 and went public in June 2002.
