Wednesday, 25th June 2008 (946 views)

The new 3G version of the Apple iPhone has received its first modification.

Goldstriker has released a version of the mobile phone that is covered in gold and diamonds, according to Pocket-lint.

It has not been revealed how much the new gold-covered phone will cost, but the company released a modified Apple iPhone last year which was partially covered in 24-carat gold and cost around £699.95, according to Gizmag.

The Boy Genius Report reported last year that musician and producer Pharrell Williams had an 18-karat solid gold iPhone made by Jacob the Jeweller.

An 18-carat white gold Apple iPhone, an 18-carat rose gold Nokia 8800 and a 24-carat gold LG KF600 have also been created by Goldstriker.

The company also produces 24-carat gold or 18-carat rose gold Apple iPods.

In related news, Samsung has released a gold-plated version of their D780 for the Russian Olympic team.
