Cachoeira gold project produces resultsThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Friday, 27th June 2008 (1261 views) Luna Gold Corporation has announced assay results from its Cachoeira gold project in Brazil. The results are from nine holes totalling 1,940 metres out of the company's 6,000-metre drill programme. Significant intercepts include 12.58 g/t of gold across six metres, 9.52 g/t of gold across one metre and 5.4 g/t of gold across two metres. Chief executive officer of Luna Gold, Tim Searcy, explained the results had come from the Arara target at Cachoeira. He added: "The Arara is the most northerly target along the five km of variably mineralised strike at Cachoeira. "The company is very pleased with the high grade intervals encountered at Arara, as it is viewed, primarily, as an underground type target." Mr Searcy added two other targets, Coruja and Toucano, also have the potential for zones of both higher and lower grade mineralisation. Drilling at Cachoeira will continue for two months. Luna Gold also has a gold project Aurizona in Brazil.
