Computer game treasure hunt finds goldTuesday, 22nd July 2008 (431 views) A real gold bar has been found in Texas following an interactive marketing campaign from Replay Studios, reports ign.com.The treasure hunt was created around the computer game Velvet Assassin which is inspired by a real life M16 agent, Violette Szabo. Special agent Szabo operated behind enemy lines in World War 2. The computer company left a trail of hidden clues over the past couple of months in websites which led one keen gamer Dee Cook to discovering the gold bar and an assortment of replica Nazi antiquities in Frederisksburg, Texas. "During the production of Velvet Assassin our research team actually found some information about Nazi gold caches," said Sascha Jungnickel, creative director at Replay Studios. He added, in keeping with the marketing campaign, that it now turns out their research was true and that "maybe" it is linked in some way to website www.violettesdream.com. The game will be available from autumn 2008. Replay Studios also created the game Survivor and Crashday.
