Garden State actress Natalie Portman is to appear in a new music video with her boyfriend Devendra Banhart, reports Hello! magazine.

The video for the folk rocker evolves around a send-up of Bollywood musicals as Ms Portman takes the lead role of an Indian princess.

To fit the part, the actress is dressed in traditional Indian attire, complete with full gold jewellery and red bindi on her forehead.

Hello! said Ms Portman plays the part of a beautiful princess who is waiting to be saved by her beloved - acted by Mr Banhart - from an evil lord.

According to the magazine, the actress met the singer during the creation of a charity album which she produced.

It was also announced this week that Ms Portman is to appear as a guest judge on reality TV fashion show, Project Catwalk.

With her own range of vegan shoes, she has agreed to join the show to judge eco-friendly designs created by the competitors.
