Segala and Tabakoto mines produce results

Thursday, 21st August 2008 (500 views)

Avion Resources has announced results from exploration drilling at the Segala and Tabakoto gold projects in Mali.

The company owns 80 per cent of the projects in western Africa.

So far, 12 drill holes out of 26 have returned results - the "best results" include 13.56 g/t of gold across 22.5 metres and 20.8 g/t of gold across 4.9 metres.

In addition, the holes produced results of 16.05 g/t of gold across three metres, 10.96 g/t of gold across six metres and 8.51 g/t of gold across 10.5 metres.

Rene Bharti, president and chief executive officer of Avion Resources, said: "These results further confirm management's belief in the Segala and Tabakoto properties as they continue to exhibit potential for additional open pit and underground exploration targets."

Out of all the 121 rock samples collected, Avion Resources reported that 41 had samples with a grading of more than 1.0 g/t of gold.

Avion Resources is a Canadian company which also has a gold exploration project in Ethiopia.
