Adventure Gold has announced drill results from its Beaufor West gold property.

A discovery hole at the site intersected five gold structures with values of 9.6 g/t of gold across 0.5 metres and 7.5 g/t of gold across 1.1 metres.

Marco Gagnon, president and chief executive officer of Adventure Gold, said: "The results are very encouraging for a first drill program by a new player in the gold exploration sector."

On the property, three holes have now been drilled for a total of 729 metres as part of the spring programme.

Drilling at Beaufor West also explored further zone 367 which produced a result of 15.7 g/t of gold across 2.5 metres in 2007 and zone 140 which produced a result of 7.9 g/t of gold across two metres last year.

The company is primarily focused on gold exploration in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt in the north-east of Ontario and the north-west of Quebec.
