Friday, 26th September 2008 (1047 views) Luna Gold has revealed "great" new assay results from the Aurizona project in Brazil.Significant results consisted of 2.27 g/t Au over 31 metres including an area of 9.73 g/t Au over three metres. Figures of 4.45 g/t Au over 15 metres, 1.16 g/t Au over 17 metres and 1.34 g/t Au over 18 metres were also provided. Chief executive officer Tim Searcy commented: "The Aurizona project continues to deliver great results. These holes will have a significant impact on the economics of the deposit." He added that the grades were "significantly higher" than what had been estimated. Commenting on figures from the Piaba prospect, exploration manager Titus Haggan said that grades had been higher than expected and demonstrated continuity at depth. Meanwhile, Dundee Securities appointed gold mining veteran Ron Stewart to its team of analysts earlier this month, according to the Globe and Mail.
