Titan Resources has announced that work has begun on the jointly-owned Norgold mining claim located near Dryden, Ontario.

A programme that has been commenced on the gold prospect will include general reconnaissance of the property incorporating historical data that has been collected, the firm stated.

It hopes to verify this past information through its own work.

A geophysical survey is to be conducted on the ground in order to identify the exact location of the mineralised zone.

The gold prospect consists of 40 mining claims covering approximately 700 hectares and in area that is "well known for its rich history of hosting gold mineralisation", the firm noted.

Titan will release the results of the project to shareholders once the programme - which is expected to last around two weeks - is completed.

Recently Alexis Minerals revealed that it had reached the commerical production stage at its Lac Herbin mine, situated in the Val d'Or area of Quebec.
