RiverRun Resources has confirmed it will press ahead with plans to develop a 79 sq km site in Peru.

Earlier in the month the company announced it had agreed an option deal to acquire the mineral rights for the site at Gold Sands in the north-east of the country from Temasek.

At the time, RiverRun Resources said it hoped to use new technology to exploit the full potential of the site.

It has now moved a step closer to doing that by appointing San Lorenzo to provide a wide range of mining support services at Gold Sands, including equipment, personnel, training and exploration planning.

Jose Alirio Lenzi, chief executive officer for RiverRun Resources, said San Lorenzo is the right partner for the project.

He added: "We intend to advance our Gold Sands exploration efforts immediately upon the completion and approval of a proposed 12-month work programme by San Lorenzo."
