Wednesday, 21st January 2009 (882 views) Nimrodel Resources has announced that it has received a licence from the Central Asian Republic of Kyrgyzstan to explore the Tyuz-Ashuiskaya gold property. The international mining company claimed that the 70 sq km exploration licence will enable it to define gold resources in an "under-explored area" that includes the Saraysay-Tyllyaberdy gold deposit. Located in the gold-rich Chatkal region in the west of Kyrgyzstan, the Tyuz-Ashuiskaya gold property is the first acquisition in the country for Nimrodel. There has been no drilling of the mineralisation on the property and exploration has been limited to surface trenching, with an average grade of gold in the trenches to date of 3.7 g/t gold over an average width of 2.4m. John Hebenton, Nimrodel managing director, stated: "As a result of work carried out over the past 18 months, the company has recognised that there is enormous potential for the development of gold mines in Kyrgyzstan." Listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, Nimrodel aims to carry out gold exploration operations at its Buckaroo project in New South Wales and conduct acquisition and joint venture mining activities in Australia and overseas.
