GBM Resources has revealed that it has increased the inferred resources at the Leven Star prospect by 76 per cent.

The inferred resource for the Leven Star zone, which forms part of the Malmsbury gold project in central Victoria, has risen from 59,000 ounces to 104,000 ounces of gold.

GBM Resources predicts that Malmsbury has the potential to "emerge as a major gold system in a world-class gold province" and the inferred resource estimate for the Leven Star prospect on Belltopper Hill follows initial drilling at the project area during 2008.

The company is considering a one km deep diamond drill hole in 2009 to test for the potential of a large tonnage intrusive related gold system at Leven Star.

GBM Resources is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and targets large gold and copper-gold systems in the country, with current projects including the Malmsbury and Willaura projects in Victoria and the Dee Range project in Queensland.
