Thursday, 22nd January 2009 (1956 views) Delhi-based jewellery designer Alpana Gujral has announced the launch of the La Bella Mascherata collection, inspired by the Venetian masquerade. The new range forms part of the Masquerade signature collection from the jeweller and features rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets that conjure up the spirit and drama of the Venetian masquerade. According to JCK India, the La Bella Mascherata collection "celebrates the gleam of pure gold" and conjures up "an aura of medieval mystery" by combining contemporary with classic design. Using the traditional craft of minakari in gold, each item in the range has Alpana Gujral's signature carved into it and is available from her studio at Feroze Gandhi Road, Lajpat Nagar III, New Delhi. The jewellery will be on display on February 19th and 20th 2009 at the DSF Emporio Mall in New Delhi. Minakari is an ancient Persian craft used in jewellery making that was spread to India by Mughals and involves painting, colouring and ornamenting the surface of gold to create enamel.
