Golden Band Resources has revealed that an independent pre-feasibility study has been completed on its La Ronge gold project in northern Saskatchewan, Canada.

The company claimed that the results of the study by P&E Mining Consultants were "positive" and the operating plan for the four-year project is "economically viable".

Golden Band plans to carry out open pit mining of the Komis and EP gold deposits, underground mining of the Bingo gold deposit and use the existing Jolu mill to process ore.

Rodney Orr, Golden Band president and chief executive, explained: "Our environmental permitting process is well advanced and we expect to commence construction once our permits are in place in late spring."

Gold production at the La Ronge gold project is expected to start in late 2009 and the pre-feasibility study revealed proven mineral resources at the site totalling 80,000 tonnes at 7.27 g/t gold and total probable resources of 682,000 tonnes at 6.09 g/t gold.

Based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Golden Band Resources is a gold explorer focused on its wholly-owned La Ronge gold belt properties with plans to become a producer this year.
