Keegan Resources has published the results of an infill and exploration drilling programme conducted during 2008 at its Esaase property.

Highlights of the programme include 26m at 2.51 g/t gold and 23m at 3.37 g/t gold from exploration drilling.

Further discoveries of 55m at 2.22 g/t gold and 99m grading 1.04 g/t gold were made from down dip step out holes in the Esaase property's main zone.

Dan McCoy, Keegan Resources president and chief executive, commented: "These new results provide continued evidence of the growth potential of the Esaase deposit."

He added that the company is planning a further infill and exploration drill programme to follow on from the 2008 scheme and is hoping to "rapidly advance the deposit through to pre-feasibility".

Junior gold company Keegan Resources is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the NYSE Alternext US and is focused on the wholly-owned Esaase and Asumura gold projects in Ghana, west Africa.
