Midlands Minerals has revealed that soil results on its South Praso property have confirmed the extensions of the Esaase and Ampeha open pit mines.

Results of a recent infill geochemical survey on the Sian project in Ghana, which includes South Praso, have also indicated that a previously-reported 2km wide by 16km long corridor of gold mineralisation connects the Esaase and Ampeha deposits.

The Esaase and Ampeha pits have produced gold in the past and still have strong growth potential, the company stated.

Kim Harris, Midlands Minerals president and chief executive, said: "This is a large and significant gold anomalous corridor of which less than ten per cent has been drilled to date."

She added that it "put the upside exploration potential" of the Sian and South Praso project into "perspective" and made targets for a major gold discovery "realistic".

Toronto-based Midlands Minerals is a gold exploration company with operations in Ghana and Tanzania, including its flagship fully permitted Sian gold project.
