Canadian company Farallon Resources has revealed that its G-9 mine in Mexico produced a total of 3,300 ounces of gold during the first quarter of 2009.

The G-9 polymetallic mine on the Campo Morado property in Guerrero State, Mexico achieved commercial production on April 1st 2009 and production results during the commissioning phase of the property met Farallon's targets.

Vancouver-based Farallon Resources has set a gold production target of 14,400 ounces for the year to December 2009.

The mine has a full design production capacity of 1,500 tonnes per day and the firm now plans to improve overall efficiencies on the G-9 property, with a particular emphasis on mill recoveries.

Farallon Resources claims that the "exploration potential of the Campo Morado property is still relatively untapped with numerous targets open for exploration and ultimately development", adding that it plans to operate several mines on the prospect in the future.
