International Tower Hill Mines has announced the results of 15 additional holes from its winter 2009 resource expansion programme at the Livengood gold project in Alsaka.

The latest drilling operations on the property have continued to confirm expansion of the main deposit's SW zone and have returned high grades of gold.

Highlights of the drilling programme include 57.9m at 2.2 g/t gold, including 9.2m at 8.3 g/t gold, 45.7m at 2.1 g/t gold and 159m at 1.0 g/t gold.

Jeff Pontius, International Tower Hill president and chief executive, commented that the latest metallurgical data "suggests high mill gold recoveries of approximately 89 per cent".

He added that "high grade areas such as the SW Zone have potential to substantially improve the project economics" and the company remains on track to increase its existing resources by 25 per cent in its June resource update.

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, International Tower Hill Mines is a resource exploration company focused on Alaska and Nevada, which owns the multi-million ounce Livengood gold property north of Fairbanks.
