Wednesday, 29th April 2009 (3280 views) Garson Gold has released the results from a preliminary assessment of the No.3 Zone of its New Britannia mine in Snow Lake, Manitoba.According to the study, reactivation of the 2,150-tonne per day New Britannia mill is feasible and the No.3 Zone remains open for expansion. Micon International completed the compliant preliminary assessment at the New Britannia prospect, which confirmed cash operating costs of $362/ounce (£246) associated with reactivation of the mine. The report was based on the mining and processing of around 149,000 ounces of gold from 830,000 tonnes at an average grade of 6.14 g/t gold. David Tafel, the company's chief executive, commented: "We view the preliminary assessment as a positive step in our project development plan." Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Garson Gold owns the 4,840-hectare New Britannia mine project and the McMillan gold mine in Ontario.
