Thursday, 28th May 2009 (1248 views) A gold watch described as one of the greatest ever made is to be put up for auction in London next month.Bonhams noted that the 18-c timepiece was created by Patek Philippe and retailed by Tiffany & Co. Only four such items have appeared at auction and it is expected to fetch between £200,000 and £300,000 when it goes on sale on June 10th. Also included in the sale will be an 18-c gold watch that was owned by former president of Argentina Isabel Peron. It includes an inscription and Bonhams estimates that it will sell for £3,000 to £4,000. Head of the auctioneer's watch department Paul Maudsley remarked: "This is a strong sale with some very desirable items, many of them highly collectable." Meanwhile, an 18-c gold Omega watch is among the items confirmed to be on offer at the Esher Hall Antiques and Fine Art Fair in Surrey later this year.
