Monday, 12th October 2009 (5272 views) Gold jewellery made in the province of Camarines Norte in the Philippines is to go on display at the Ayala Museum in Makati City.The Bulawan: The Gold of Camarines Norte exhibition will run from November 4th to 12th and will feature pieces crafted by the region's expert jewellery makers and designed by sculptor Dr Joaquin Gasgonia Palencia. Camarines Norte's gold jewellery is known for its delicate, complex style and is usually very traditional in design, according to BusinessWorld. However, Dr Palencia's creations are more light and modern, he said. The pieces are inspired by designs in nature and include 18-c gold necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and bangles. The Ayala Museum is currently hosting a display of over 1,000 pre-16th century gold objects. Among the items on display at the Gold of Ancestors: Pre-colonial Treasures of the Philippines exhibition are gold sashes, necklaces, pectorals, diadems, earrings, rings, bracelets and anklets.
